Merrell Measuring Guide
WOMEN
CHEST
To correctly measure your chest size, start with your arms slightly raised at your side. Keep your measuring tape parallel to the floor and measure around your upper body under your armpits and over the fullest part of your chest and shoulder blades.
WAIST
Our women's pants are designed to fit comfortably just below your true waist height for greater comfort and style. But to achieve the perfect Merrell fit, measure the narrow part of your torso, just above the navel, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Here's a hint: Keep one finger between the tape and your body for a higher level of comfort.
HIP
Everybody knows this is a crucial area to get the fit right. Similar to the waist, use a measuring tape flat against your body and measure at the fullest point of your hip, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Keep a finger between the tape and your body for a little added comfort.
SLEEVE
Ok, this one takes some work, but it's worth it. Start by bending your arm at 90 degrees and placing your hand on your hip. Now, start measuring from the center of the back of your neck and down across your shoulder to the elbow then down to the wrist. Not so bad, eh? Make sure to write that one down!
INSEAM
To get this right, it's best to start with a favorite pair of good fitting pants. Try to pick one in a similar fabric to the one you may buy from Merrell. Now, measure along the inside of the pant leg from the crotch to the hem at the bottom opening. We round the number to the nearest 1/2" and call it good!
HEAD
Great hats are hard to come by, better have one that fits perfectly. To determine the size you'll need, measure around your head, just above your brow. Simple.
MEN
CHEST
To correctly measure your chest size, start with your arms slightly raised at your side. Keep your measuring tape parallel to the floor and measure around your upper body under your armpits and over the fullest part of your chest and shoulder blades. Record the number on your hand if necessary!
WAIST
Our men's pants are designed to "ride" comfortably at your natural waist height. For the perfect waist fit, measure around your waist where your favorite fitting pants usually fall. Here's a hint: Keep one finger between the tape and your body for a higher level of comfort.
NECK
There are two ways to correctly measure your neck. Using your tape, measure around the middle of your neck at the Adam's apple. Keep one finger between your neck and the tape measure for a comfortable fit.
Or, take a favorite shirt with a collar that fits you comfortably. Lay the collar flat, and measure from center of collar button to the far end of the buttonhole. This length in inches is your neck size.
